Electro-Mech Introduces Digital Hall-Effect Switches For High Performance Reliability

South El Monte, CA  - June 30, 2004 – Electro-Mech Components, Inc. has introduced a new Hall-Effect lighted pushbutton switch product group featuring integrated digital circuitry offering improved reliability, long service life and a small form factor for a variety of applications.

Designed as a single-pole single-throw (SPST) or double-pole, single-throw (2PST) momentary illuminated switch, the Series H/E is ideally suited for any high volume, front panel switching application, including industrial/avionics displays and controls, instrument panel controls and high-density panel controls. The Series H/E can also be provided in integral assemblies, such as a dual function switch/rotary potentiometer, for added high-density panel installations. Lightweight and compact, the new switch series weighs less than one ounce (1 oz.) and is offered in 0.50, 0.62 or 0.75-inch square or round push-button sizes, and requires only 1.7 inches of space behind display panels. One-step installation is achieved by snapping the unit into panel mounting holes. Units are available in a variety of interface styles, including solder lug terminals, direct-PCB mount pins, or lead wires with or without customer-specified industry standard connectors.

The Series H/E requires a 3.8V minimum power supply voltage, 5mA maximum supply current (output leakage current 5mA maximum). Units are available in SPST NO or SPST 2 N.O. circuitry. Momentary units feature an operating pressure of 12 oz. (±4 oz.), plunger travel of approximately 0.120 inches, and a rated life of 500,000 minimum actuations.

For versatile display options, switch lenses in the Series H/E include custom legends and colors, available to create symbolic or legend detail and optimal recognition. Available interchangeable lenses also feature opaque front lens, readable only when lighted, including colored lens filters for coding or emergency indicator design.
