Electro-Mech Introduces Compact Hall-Effect Switch Featuring Digital Circuitry for High Performance Reliability

8/8/2001

August 8, 2001 -- em0108Electro-Mech Components, Inc. has introduced the SW44158 Hall-Effect Pushbutton switch.   Featuring hall-effect integrated circuitry, the SW44158 provides reliable performance and long service life in a compact size to meet a wide variety of small form factor requirements.

Designed with a SPST or 2PST momentary illuminated switch, the SW44158 is suitable for virtually any high volume front panel switching application including industrial/avionics displays and controls, instrument panel controls and other high-density panels.

Lightweight and compact, the new switch weighs less than one ounce and measures 0.62" square inches standard (pushbutton size), with custom sizes also available.  The SW44158 requires only 1.7h of space behind the display panel and is easy to mount by simply snapping into a 3/4" square hole.  Connection to panel is accomplished using solder lug terminals or PC terminals.

The SW44158 requires a 3.8-volt minimum supply voltage and 5mA maximum supply current.  Output leakage current is 5A maximum and potentiometer resistance is 10K.  Other features provided by the SW44158 include SPST NO, momentary switching with an operating pressure of 12 oz. (+ 4 oz.), plunger travel of approximately 0.120h, and a rated life of 500,000  minimum actuations.

Unit pricing is $8.80 at 1,000 pieces with delivery of 8 weeks ARO.  Complete specifications are available on request.
